Denpa, Kuma License Odd Taxi, Wolf Pack Manga | Anime News

Publishers Denpa and KUMA announced at the Anime NYC panel on Friday that Denpa has licensed the "Odd Taxi" comic and KUMA has licensed the "Billy Balibally's Wolf Pack" comic.

Denpa will begin publishing Odd Taxi in the fourth quarter of 2024. Volume One will be available for $13.95. There are five comic books in total. Kadzuya Konomoto, P.I.C.S. and the manga is drawn by Abaraya Takeichi.

The comic is adapted from the original TV animated series of the same name. The TV anime premiered in Japan in April 2021 and aired a total of 13 episodes. Crunchyroll is streaming the anime in the West.

The story is about Odokawa, an eccentric, taciturn, 41-year-old taxi driver with no relatives and no connections to others. He talks to his clients, who include a college student trying to become famous, a nurse keeping a secret, a failed actor, a gangster experience, and a budding idol. These conversations lead him to a missing girl.

While the movie "Strange Taxi: Into the Woods" is a "remake" of the TV animated series, it also tells what happened after the TV animation ended. The film was released in Japan in April 2022, with the cast and crew returning. The movie is streaming on Crunchyroll.



Frontier Works published the book edition of the Wolfpack manga in Japan in May 2019. This popular boys' comic tells the story of two wolf leaders who will follow the rules. The English version will sell for $15.95, and KUMA aims to publish the comic in late summer or early fall 2024.

Tokyopop previously reported the English version of Balibally's FANGS manga in 2021.

>In the Q&A portion of Denpa and KUMA's panel, Denpa announced that sales of the "Tianmu" manga were "unsatisfactory" ahead of the anime's premiere. A representative of Denpa said that if the film did not do well, the company would have to stop. However, the comic was reprinted for the third time.
